May 13, 2008 Okemo/Mount Sunapee Resort presented a proposed Annual Operating Plan to the Mount Sunapee Ski Area Advisory Committee, chaired by Comm. George Bald, Dept. of Resources and Economic Development.

State Beach Parking Lot

NEWBURY: Changes to the parking lot at the beach at Mount Sunapee State Park came before Newbury Conservation Commission, May 13, 2008, in a meeting with the Department of Resources & Economic Development (DRED).

UPDATE: June 27, 2008, DES requested of DRED more information about the project.

July 28 - August 1 & August 4 - 8, 2008

Historic Sites Survey of the Pisgah Wilderness: Revisiting the Broad Brook Community. 8:30 a.m.–4 p.m. with lectures and workshops.  13,000-acre Pisgah State Park is located in the southwestern corner of New Hampshire. Community members, students, teachers and visitors to the region who are interested in exploring New Hampshire’s rich history are encouraged to enroll in this hands-on field school. August 9, 2008 - Saturday

Hike Gap Monadnock with Forest Society, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Gap Mountain Forest Reservation in Jaffrey and Troy. The 1,100-acre Gap Mountain Forest Reservation is a classic hiking destination, particularly in mid-summer when sun-ripened blueberries and stunning views of Monadnock beckon.

Join a Forest Society naturalist and staff ecologist on a traverse of the property to learn about the ecological reserve area, rare plants and recreation management. Lunch on the summit will include readings and discussions about the history of Monadnock and the local recreation experience.

This hike is rated: Strenuous, Uphill  Climbing or Bushwacking.

AMC Trail Work on Sunapee Ridge - Help maintain the AMC-NH Chapter's adopted section of the Monadnock-Sunapee Greenway. Light work, great views, and a good hike. No experience necessary.
