Vail Resorts seeks to acquire the ski area lease and resort operations at Mount Sunapee State Park.
Please join FOMS at the Mount Sunapee State Park Information Session on Wednesday, July 25 at 6 pm. at Mount Sunapee State Park (Sunapee Lodge), Route 103, Newbury, N.H.
The Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) is holding this session to address the proposed transfer of the State’s lease of a portion of Mount Sunapee State Park to VR NE Holdings, LLC, a subsidiary of Vail Resorts, Inc.
“Details of the transaction will be presented by the parties and the public will have an opportunity to be heard and to ask questions,” the DNCR media release says.
We encourage Friends to share their questions and concerns at the July 25 meeting.
The proposed lease transfer to Vail prompts many questions. Representatives of Friends of Mount Sunapee have provided DNCR Commissioner Sarah Stewart and Attorney General Gordon MacDonald several points of interest to us. See FOMS Organizational Positions, as of 7-10-2018, a summary of issues recently presented to the commissioner and attorney general.
FOMS continues to advocate for accountable, public oversight of our park including ski area operations. We must protect the park’s natural heritage and the inherent public values that our New Hampshire state parks seek to provide.
Make your comments heard.
